• Over one third of the Scottish population live within a 30 minute drive of SBP.
• The SBP catchment area is the most densely populated area with Higher/Further Education facilities in Scotland, and has access to the largest concentration of students in the country.
• The area benefits from a substantial range of retail and leisure facilities, including Hamilton, East Kilbride (with over 1.2m sq ft of covered shopping space) and Glasgow City Centre.
• North Lanarkshire's average weekly wages are 7.4% less than Scotland as a whole
• The SBP area has a higher proportion of people with high level qualifications (NVQ 3 and NVQ 4+) than Scotland as a whole.
